    • ok, let me qualify my earlier post. I’m just wondering if he’s trying to prove a point about how nonchalant some westerners can be about the suffering of the rest of the world. If in fact he is just being rude and shocking for a laugh, I agree that it’s very very tasteless and inappropriate. If however his aim is to point out drastic insensitivity in a people group who have real means to help these orphans, then maybe he has a platform. I’m sorry if I was unclear or insensitive.

  2. Wow! Well…first I guess I have to say consider the source! I mean Pauly Shore?!!? What would one expect? I have to wonder what his motivation is to pick international adoption as a topic to poke fun of…can’t help but wonder if he is motivated by the publicity of Madonna and Angelina Jolie’s international adoptions. Hmmm… Well…one positive is that this film (if it makes it into the mainstream) will give those in the adoption triad an opportunity to speak their own truth about adoption.

I do have to say, though, it breaks my heart for adoptees, because once again they appear to be the “pawn” in the adoption cycle.

One a side note…some of his comments are pretty racist and may be very offensive to Africans, in particular!

Thanks for sharing the clip! It is stay to be informed about what’s coming out of “hollywood”.

Speaking about international adoption…I just watched another film “referencing” international adoption. It is called Gigantic. It is an independent film. Makes adoption seem pretty much a breeze for the adoptive parents once the paperwork and interviews are over. More fodder to feed the rumor mills.

  3. I think comedy is best when it’s clever. Anyone can make fun of something or someone. There’s no talent in that.

He’s offensive to everyone in this film.
