Here is list of countries that I believe allow singles to adopt an orphan:

Brazil

• Both men and women. One of the only countries to allow single men to adopt.

Columbia

• Child must be at least 7 years of age.

Ethiopia

• Women only and rare. Case by case basis.

Haiti

India

• Woman cannot be older than 45 years of age.

Kazakhstan

Liberia

Mexico

Phillippines

Poland

Russia

Uganda

• May only adopt a child of the same sex

Thailand

• Women only and child must be special-needs
